Job summary

Willdan Performance Engineering is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to oversee multiple energy retrofit projects in Southern California. The role requires a degree in engineering/construction management and 4–6 years in field operations and construction means and methods.

The ideal candidate will lead subcontractors, manage schedules and costs, and ensure quality while maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or other construction related field.
• 4-6 years of total professional experience in field operations and construction means and methods.
• Knowledge of construction process; ESCO design and commissioning knowledge preferred.
• Mechanical and electrical systems knowledge in commercial/institutional facilities preferred.
• Ability to lead, balance cost implications, and avoid disruptions.
• PMP certification a plus.
• Travel and valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost and constructability input during the design phase.
• Coordinate the bid process, including pre-bid walkthroughs.
• Manage Subcontract administration, including subcontract agreements.
• Coordinate submittal process.
• Schedule, supervise, and coordinate Subcontractor activities; lead construction meetings.
• Ensure construction progresses on schedule; maintain schedules and update as needed.
• Ensure specifications are adhered to; liaise between subs and engineers; ensure quality and safety.
• Provide assignments and mentorship to project staff.
• Manage project cost control and forecasting; provide monthly cost vs. budget reports.
• Maintain Construction Management Software per company guidelines.
