Job summary

Amazon’s Energy Category team is seeking a senior procurement leader to own energy utility strategy for global operations. You’ll shape sourcing across regulated and deregulated markets, negotiate with utilities, and build forward purchase plans to manage cost exposure while ensuring reliability for existing and new sites.

You’ll collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Sustainability, and Finance to drive measurable savings and sustainability outcomes, including onsite renewables and storage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical or quantitative field as specified.
• 7+ years in energy, utilities, or energy procurement roles.
• 5+ years in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, or supplier management.
• Experience using data and metrics to drive decisions and communicate outcomes to senior leadership.
• Cross-functional collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute energy utility sourcing strategies across regulated and deregulated markets, including tariff optimization, load planning, power availability, and grid resiliency.
• Negotiate contracts with electric and gas utilities, retail energy providers, and energy services firms to lower cost and improve reliability.
• Build forward purchasing strategies to reduce energy cost exposure and price volatility.
• Oversee third-party energy supply partners and monitor performance against cost and resiliency targets.
• Provide energy market intelligence to internal stakeholders and anticipate regulatory shifts and rate changes.
• Identify and deliver measurable savings and sustainability outcomes; escalate risks with action plans.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Sustainability, and Finance to align energy strategy with business growth.
• Contribute to broader energy portfolio strategy including onsite renewables, storage, and grid technologies.
