Job summary

Econ One advises clients on electricity and power markets, energy regulation, damages analysis, and market design issues in major disputes. The Energy Practice provides quantitative analysis of electric and natural gas markets to utilities, attorneys, power producers, and investors involved in litigation and regulatory disputes.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required in Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Optimization or Engineering.
• 2–3 years of experience in energy consulting, economic consulting, electric utility, power markets or related analytical role.
• Experience working with large, messy, or complex datasets.
• Proficiency with Python, GAMS, and Excel for data analysis and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative research and analysis related to electricity and power markets, regulatory issues, and litigation matters.
• Construct, clean, and manage large datasets using Python and Excel.
• Perform data analysis, statistical evaluation, and investigative work with minimal supervision.
• Prepare memoranda, exhibits, and presentations summarizing analytical findings.
• Assist in the preparation of expert reports, declarations, and testimony materials.
• Review and check work product for accuracy and completeness.
• Support fact checking and backup preparation for reports and exhibits.
• Review and synthesize information from discovery materials, deposition testimony, academic literature, and public data sources.
