Job summary

Econ One is seeking an Analyst/Senior Analyst to support our Energy Practice. You will contribute quantitative analysis, data management, and research on electricity and power markets, working with Python and Excel in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a strong quantitative foundation, 2–3 years in energy consulting, and the ability to produce precise work under deadlines, with a hybrid schedule out of the Washington DC office.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required in a relevant field.
• 2–3 years in energy/economic consulting or related analytics.
• Experience handling large, messy datasets.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Python, GAMS, and Excel for data analysis and presentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative research and analysis on electricity and power markets, regulatory issues, and litigation matters.
• Construct, clean, and manage large datasets using Python and Excel.
• Perform data analysis, statistical evaluation, and investigative work with minimal supervision.
• Prepare clear memoranda, exhibits, and presentations summarizing analytical findings.
• Assist in preparing expert reports, declarations, and testimony materials.
• Review work for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Support fact checking and backup preparation for reports and exhibits.
• Synthesize information from discovery materials and public data sources.
