Job summary

Meta is seeking an Energy Manager to support the development of cost-effective energy solutions for our data centers in the United States. You will shape energy infrastructure strategies, lead negotiations for interconnection and energy supply agreements, and coordinate with utility partners and internal teams to deliver complex energy projects.

The role requires 12+ years in energy, strong project management, and the ability to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a directly related field.
• 12+ years of relevant work experience with utility/energy project development or energy-intensive sectors.
• Working knowledge of transmission, distribution and utility interconnection processes.
• Experience with project development and management for complex, large-scale projects.
• Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Experience communicating project status, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint and/or Keynote skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the creation and execution of overarching and site-specific energy infrastructure strategies for Meta’s data centers.
• Establish and communicate energy requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead negotiations for energy infrastructure agreements and present recommendations to leadership for approval.
• Manage project due diligence, site development, construction, commercial agreements and operational processes for energy related matters.
• Lead communication and deliverables between utility partners, internal stakeholders, and consultants with a high degree of autonomy.
• Negotiate deal terms, focusing on capacity planning and optionality to maximize longevity of options.
• Negotiate and deliver new commercial agreements that enable capacity and fungible options.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal partners across site selection, engineering, data center design, construction, facility operations, legal and finance.
• Identify and drive process improvements to optimize project delivery, reducing time and cost.
• Lead and manage ad-hoc energy initiatives and drive measurable value.
• Travel domestically up to 25%.
