Job summary

Meta's Energy Team seeks a commercially experienced energy professional to grow and manage our data center portfolio, ensuring cost-effective, risk-aware, and sustainable energy supply for capacity planning.

The role covers regulated and organized electricity markets and natural gas transactions, including utility and pipeline relationships, with focus on AI-enabled optimization and rapid capacity enablement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a directly related field or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of experience navigating commercial energy issues
• Experience representing business interests to leadership teams of suppliers/utilities/pipelines/regulatory agencies
• Experience negotiating energy supply or fuel agreements (PPAs/ESAs/tariffs/natural gas contracts)
• Experience in WECC/SERC and/or ERCOT/SPP markets
• Proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint/Google Docs
• Experience integrating AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impact

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of Meta's global energy strategy
• Manage electricity and gas regulation, policy, and utility relationships
• Structure and execute fuel supply and transportation transactions for gas-fired generation
• Represent business interests to leadership teams of suppliers, utilities, pipelines and regulators
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage multiple projects
• Communicate commercial, regulatory, market and contractual details clearly across the organization
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies and integrate AI tools to improve efficiency
