Perkins Coie LLP seeks a counsels-level attorney to lead high-stakes energy transactions and regulatory matters within the Projects, Energy, Environment & Resources practice group. You will draft complex agreements, advise on market design in PJM/MISO/SPP/ERCOT/CAISO, and advocate before FERC.

The role emphasizes collaboration with global partners, mentorship of associates, and developing a strong practice in digital energy infrastructure and the energy transition.

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years of experience in energy law.
• Ability to manage complex transactions and regulatory filings from inception to completion with minimal partner supervision.
• Deep knowledge of the Federal Power Act, wholesale power markets, and power transaction structures.
• Familiar with PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT and CAISO market design and participation.
• JD from an accredited law school; bar admission in office location or eligible to waive.
• Collaborative self-starter with client-relations skills.

Aufgaben

• Lead power purchase agreement, energy service agreement, and interconnection arrangements drafting and negotiation for developers, utilities and corporate buyers.
• Provide strategic advice on electric market design issues within RTOs/ISOs.
• Represent clients before FERC and advise on market-based rate programs and exempt wholesale generators.
• Counsel clients on emerging energy policy and carbon-free energy procurement strategies.
• Participate in client relationship management and contribute to thought leadership in digital and energy infrastructure; mentor junior associates.
