Ashurst Perkins Coie LLP is seeking a senior energy-lawyer to lead complex transactions and regulatory matters in the U.S. The role centers on power purchase agreements, interconnection matters, and strategic market design under PJM/MISO/CAISO, with FERC representation and policy advisory responsibilities.

Ideal candidates will have 6+ years in energy law, a JD, and admission to practice, with the ability to lead teams, mentor associates, and contribute to client development within the PEER

Qualifications

• 6+ years of energy-law experience.
• Ability to manage complex transactions and regulatory filings from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of the Federal Power Act and wholesale power markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting and negotiation of bespoke power purchase agreements and related arrangements.
• Advise on market design issues within PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT and CAISO.
• Represent clients before FERC and advise on compliance with market-based rate programs and generators interlocks.
