Job summary

MSG Consulting Group in New York is seeking an Energy Engineer to lead operations, maintenance and energy optimization for large commercial facilities. You will manage central plant systems, review capital projects, and drive energy efficiency improvements.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and experience in energy concepts, with certifications preferred. Expect field work in NYC and up to 50% travel as part of project execution.

Qualifications

• Field engineering, building commissioning or HVAC/electrical construction experience.
• Strong background in Energy Engineering and Energy Management.
• Mechanical or Electrical engineering with HVAC and controls knowledge.
• Understanding of energy concepts including demand-side management and renewables.
• PE, CEM, LEED-AP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and implement MEP best practices and protocols.
• Support procurement of energy-efficient systems and equipment.
• Oversee central plant operations and energy-cost reductions.
• Review design of major capital projects for client standards.
• Evaluate energy-saving tech ROI for quick payback projects.
• Assist in planning and implementing updated Building Management System projects.
• Develop space consolidation plans to reduce energy costs.
• Provide training on operation of boilers, chillers and BMS.
