Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
• High School and 2 years experience operating a power system.
• 1–2 years experience in substation operation, protective relaying, or distribution dispatching is desirable.
• Valid state driver license.
• HireVue Dispatcher Worker Virtual Job Tryout is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and regulate system voltage levels and real/reactive power flows.
• Perform real-time operation of the AEP transmission system in coordination with the AEP SCC.
• Prepare basic switching orders and safety tagging for removal of equipment.
• Direct switching operations under emergency conditions to restore service.
• Maintain event logs and monitor SCADA and metering facilities.
