Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. seeks a Senior Construction Counsel - Energy to lead contract reviews and risk management for major energy projects, negotiating terms and guiding project teams.

Requirements include a JD from an ABA-accredited school, active bar admission, 7+ years in construction law, and proven ability to manage outside counsel and build strategic relationships with customers, subcontractors, and vendors.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Bar admission in at least one state; in good standing in all states where admitted.
• 7+ years of experience in construction law, in firm and/or in-house settings.

Responsibilities

• Review, negotiate and document sophisticated, multi-party construction contracts and change orders.
• Advise project teams to balance risk and relationships with customers, subcontractors and vendors.
• Develop and maintain relationships with project management and execution teams to address contract issues and compliance.
• Assist with best-practice design and implementation of contract risk review and formation processes.
• Provide analyses and recommendations on contract terms; support dispute resolution and claims.
