Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking a Senior Construction Counsel - Energy to guide legal matters for major projects. You will review and negotiate complex contracts, advise on risk, and support project teams across execution and compliance.

The role reports to the Director, Operations Counsel with hybrid/remote options; requires a JD, bar admission, and 7+ years in construction law; strong collaboration and strategic thinking are essential.

Qualifications

Education: JD from ABA-accredited law school.
Bar admission in at least one state; in good standing.
7+ years in law focusing on construction law.

Responsibilities

Review, negotiate and document sophisticated, multi-party construction contracts and change orders.
Advocate for the company’s position while managing relationships with customers, subcontractors and vendors.
Provide practical legal advice to project management and execution teams on contract compliance and notices.
Assist with best-practice design for contract risk review and project execution processes.
Provide analyses and recommendations on contract terms; advise on disputes and claims.
Act as advocate for the company in claims and litigation; manage outside counsel.
