Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector seeks a Sr. Principal Engineer Energetics Manufacturing – Level 4 in Promontory, UT. You will be a linchpin defining the art of the possible from day one, on a 4/10 schedule with Fridays off, supporting environmental, structural, dynamic and static tests for aerospace components.

You will work with senior engineers to maintain and develop control systems for test processes and present data to leadership; occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience or higher; or Master’s with 6 years; PhD with 4 years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for clear documentation.
• Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, document and oversee build, installation and checkout of test support equipment.
• Document ground test equipment electrical/mechanical designs, test setups, and bay configurations.
• Learn to manage complex test projects with emphasis on safety under pressure.
• Present technical data to leadership and review boards.
• Spend time in test facilities and offsite locations to solve complex testing challenges.
• Maintain and update the UIE drawings database in TRO (mechanical drawings and electrical schematics).
• Work overtime occasionally to meet drawing deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.
