Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector seeks a Senior Principal Chief Engineer – Level 4 in Promontory, UT to lead Safety and Mission Assurance across programs. This role follows a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off and up to 10% travel.

You will interface with program leadership, engineering, safety and quality to ensure compliance and program success. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years (or advanced degrees with fewer years) and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 4 years of professional experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
• Prior Aerospace experience working with rocket motor design, manufacturing and/or quality.
• Strong working knowledge of Quality and Safety policies, procedures and processes.
• Ability to craft solutions to meet program unique requirements while maintaining compliance to AS9100.
• Must have proven experience in effectively prioritizing competing and demanding priorities to satisfy S&MA requirements.
• Strong organization, planning, execution and budget management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with customers

Responsibilities

• Ensuring resources across S&MA are provided when and where needed to support Program success.
• Lead efforts to develop, communicate and implement the S&MA vision, strategy, goals and metrics to help meet business and program objectives.
• Daily interface with program leadership, Engineering, Safety and Quality organizations is required.
• Regular customer interface is required to assure all customer requirements are being met.
