Job summary

The State of North Carolina - Adult Correction is seeking a Corrections Programs Director III (NS) to lead development and expansion of job skills training and employment opportunities for incarcerated individuals, focusing on work release programming.

The role involves recruiting employers, coordinating transportation, and collaborating with facility and community partners to align education, programs, and employment pathways.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services or criminal justice field.
• Four years of experience in correctional programs management or related work.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and recruit employers appropriate for work release placements.
• Match work release employers with suitable NCDAC facilities based on needs and capabilities.
• Coordinate transportation logistics for work release participants when required.
• Maintain regular communication and collaboration with facility, regional, and division staff.
• Support multidisciplinary strategies linking education, job training, and employment pathways.
• Monitor and review program effectiveness, providing recommendations for improvement.
• Provide training and technical assistance to NCDAC staff on work release policies and procedures.
• Conduct frequent travel throughout the assigned region to maintain employer and facility relationships.

Education
