The NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Corrections Programs Director III (NS) to lead employment and training initiatives for incarcerated individuals, focusing on expanding work release opportunities and coordinating with employers and facilities. The role requires developing partnerships and guiding program implementation across divisions.

Travel within the region is expected, and the position reports to the Lead Employment Programs Administrator, supporting education, job skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services or criminal justice field with four years of experience in correctional programs management or related work.
• Experience in correctional or justice-involved settings preferred.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned region.
• Knowledge of work release programs and employer outreach is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Identify, evaluate, and recruit employers appropriate for work release placements.
• Match work release employers with suitable facilities based on needs and capabilities.
• Coordinate transportation logistics for work release participants when required.
• Maintain regular communication with facility, regional, and division staff.
• Support multidisciplinary strategies linking education, job training, and employment pathways.
• Monitor and review program effectiveness, providing recommendations for improvement.
• Provide training and technical assistance to staff on work release policies and procedures.
• Conduct frequent travel within the assigned region to maintain employer and facility relationships.
