Job summary

Truist Financial Corporation, a major financial services firm, seeks a senior paralegal with extensive employment-law experience to support labor and employment attorneys. You will investigate claims, draft statements, manage large case volumes, and supervise document collection and preservation.

The role requires five+ years of related legal or financial experience, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to coordinate with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an American Bar Association approved curriculum or equivalent education; or paralegal training program; or paralegal certification; or prior experience.
• 5 or more years of related legal or financial experience.
• Strong understanding of legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to identify issues, analyze information, and develop conclusions with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to convey complex facts clearly.
• Strong knowledge of legal research methods and online research capabilities.
• Creative problem-solving with ability to handle complex issues.
• Leadership and relationship management skills to influence outcomes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects across attorneys and departments.

Responsibilities

• Follow an outline of essential functions; other duties may be assigned.
• Investigate facts of large volumes of matters; organize and review information.
• Perform moderately complex legal research and apply results to cases.
• Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, contracts, and correspondence.
• Summarize matters, deposits, and testimonies.
• Design and maintain workflow processes and databases within Legal Department.
• Maintain and update files, forms, and records.
• Interact professionally with internal teams, outside counsel, and clients.
• Provide guidance and training to junior staff as applicable.
