Job summary

Truist is seeking an experienced paralegal to support labor and employment law matters in Charlotte, NC. You will investigate and respond to government agency claims, draft position statements, and manage large volumes of litigation tasks under attorneys.

The role requires strong legal research, writing, and document management, plus the ability to coordinate with internal teams and outside counsel. Office-based, with standard business hours, and opportunities to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ABA-approved curriculum or paralegal education/certification
• 5+ years of related legal or financial experience
• Strong understanding of legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures
• Strong analytical thinking with minimal supervision
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong legal research and writing skills with online research experience
• Creative problem-solving and timely decision-making
• Leadership and relationship management with cross-functional teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex to highly-complex legal issues requiring professional expertise and knowledge of law, regulation, policies, and guidelines
• Investigate facts for large volumes of complex matters, organizing and analyzing detailed information
• Perform moderately complex legal research and apply results to facts
• Draft and review legal and business documents including correspondence, contracts, pleadings
• Summarize matters with events, facts, depositions, testimony, and interrogatories
• Design, maintain, and manage Legal Department workflows, reports, tools, and databases
• Maintain and update files, forms, databases, and records
• Interact professionally with internal clients, outside counsel, vendors, and managers
• Provide guidance and training to less experienced paralegals or staff
