Job summary

Truist in the United States seeks an experienced professional specializing in employment law to investigate and respond to employment-related claims and draft position statements for government agencies.

The role handles a large volume of litigation, maintains client relationships, and coordinates with internal teams and outside counsel. Office-centric, five days a week, with locations including Richmond, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or paralegal training or certification.
• 5+ years of related legal or financial experience.
• Strong knowledge of legal concepts and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex legal issues requiring professional expertise.
• Investigate facts of a large volume of matters via client or witness interviews.
• Perform moderately complex legal research and apply results.
• Draft and review legal documents including pleadings and contracts.
• Summarize matters with events, facts, depositions and interrogatories.
• Design and manage legal department workflow processes and databases.
• Maintain and update files, forms, databases and records.
• Provide guidance and training to junior staff and other paralegals.
