Job summary

Confidential Employer in California seeks an experienced employment litigation attorney to lead single-plaintiff, class actions, PAGA matters, and related disputes.

You will develop strategy with partners, manage discovery, take depositions, and represent clients in court and arbitration, with autonomy in a boutique setting.

Candidates must have CA Bar, 6+ years, strong writing and advocacy, and a proven record in labor and employment litigation.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active California Bar membership in good standing.
• 6+ years of California labor and employment litigation experience.
• Ability to independently manage significant litigation matters.
• Experience handling complex class action and PAGA matters.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
• Employer-side employment litigation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead single-plaintiff, class action, collective action, and PAGA matters through all phases of litigation.
• Develop litigation strategy with relationship partners and take ownership of execution.
• Direct discovery and take and defend depositions.
• Work closely with expert witnesses on sophisticated employment matters.
• Draft and argue dispositive and other significant motions.
• Appear in court and represent clients in trial and arbitration proceedings.
• Lead settlement negotiations and advocate for clients during mediations.
• Prepare complex matters for trial and arbitration.
• Advise employer clients on litigation strategy, employment issues, and risk.
• Build trusted client relationships while independently managing significant matters.
