Responsibilities

• Advise educational institutions on employment law matters, including employee discipline, termination, leave policies, wage and hour compliance, and workplace investigations.
• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and litigation involving employee claims.
• Draft and review employment agreements, policies, and procedures for legal compliance.
• Conduct training sessions on employment law for staff and administrators.
• Stay updated on labor and employment law developments affecting the education sector.
• Collaborate with legal teams, school boards, and HR professionals to develop legal strategies.

Qualifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar.
• At least 4 years of employment law experience, with 2 years advising educational institutions.
• Familiarity with Education Code, Title IX, California Government Code, and related laws.
• Strong communication and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with school boards and HR is preferred.
• MUST be based in California.
