Responsibilities

• Advise educational institutions on employment law matters, including employee discipline, termination, leave policies, wage and hour compliance, and workplace investigations.
• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and litigation involving employee claims.
• Draft and review employment agreements, policies, and procedures for legal compliance.
• Conduct trainings on employment law best practices.
• Stay updated on labor and employment law developments relevant to education.
• Collaborate with attorneys, school boards, and HR professionals on legal strategies.

Qualifications

• Active California State Bar membership.
• At least 4 years employment law experience, with 2 years advising educational institutions.
• Familiarity with Education Code, Title IX, California Government Code, and related laws.
• Strong communication and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
• Experience with school boards, superintendents, and HR is preferred.
• MUST be based in California.
