Job summary

The Seattle office of an established national labor and employment law firm seeks a Mid- to Senior-Level Advice and Counsel Associate. Focus on counseling employers on ADA, FMLA, policies, contracts, training, and investigations. The ideal candidate has strong writing, judgment, and independence to manage multiple priorities.

Active Washington State Bar admission required; 5+ years of experience in employment law and excellent client-facing skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of employment law experience.
• Experience counseling employers on employment matters.
• Experience drafting and reviewing employment policies.
• Knowledge of ADA, FMLA, and related compliance.
• Experience drafting employment contracts and conducting investigations.
• Excellent academic credentials with strong legal writing and analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Active admission to the Washington State Bar.

Responsibilities

• Advise employers on day-to-day employment law matters and workplace issues.
• Draft, review and revise employment policies, procedures and employee-facing documentation.
• Counsel clients on ADA, FMLA and other leave and accommodation matters.
• Draft and review employment contracts and related agreements.
• Provide management and employee training on employment law and workplace compliance topics.
• Conduct and advise on workplace investigations.
• Develop practical, business-minded solutions that help clients manage risk and maintain compliant workplaces.
• Collaborate with attorneys across the firm while independently managing client matters and priorities.
