Job summary

SentinelOne is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel, Employment to provide strategic employment guidance across a global organization, with primary focus on the United States. You will partner with the People team and cross-functional stakeholders to manage hiring, policies, investigations and risk across jurisdictions.

This is a hybrid role with in-office collaboration one day per week at the Mountain View, CA office, offering opportunities to shape policies and scalable programs in a fast-paced tech

Qualifications

• A JD (or an equivalent) with 8+ years of employment law experience, including significant in-house experience
• Familiarity with and experience advising on key employment law frameworks such as non-competes, separations, disability claims, and hiring practices (including background checks and pay transparency)
• Well-grounded knowledge of US employment law
• Comfort working with data: building metrics, spotting trends, and presenting clear insights to senior leaders
• Sound and practical business judgment
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced and demanding work environment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A bias and drive for action, learning and problem solving
• High responsiveness with a service-focused approach
• Both a collaborative teammate and able to work independently
• Preferred: 4+ years of in-house experience at a technology company
• Preferred: Experience advising on employment matters across multiple jurisdictions, ideally including APJ and Israel
• Preferred: Experience advising on sales commission plans and other sales compensation matters
• Preferred: Familiarity with employee benefit plans and related compliance
• Preferred: Experience with the employment side of M&A, integrations, and restructurings
• Preferred: Experience with AI tools to streamline research, analyze data trends, and scale legal support across a growing global team

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor on the full employee lifecycle, including complex hiring, performance management, executive compensation, and sensitive terminations
• Partner closely with the People team and other internal stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate employment-related risks
• Own the development, review, and rollout of employment policies, templates, employee handbooks, practices, and best-in-class frameworks that scale globally while accounting for local requirements, including addressing complex or high-risk matters, sensitive employee issues, and strategic initiatives
• Lead and take initiative on internal investigations, including employee complaints, workplace conduct matters, and policy violations, and advise on and support any required remediation efforts
• Leverage data and analytics to track employment trends, manage operational spend, and present clear insights to legal and People leadership, supporting data-driven decision-making across a complex matrix organization
• Manage outside counsel relationships, including invoice review and approvals, spend monitoring, rate negotiations, and maintaining a matter tracker, to control costs and improve outcomes
