Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Two years of customer service and computer experience.
• At least one year of dispatch experience in law enforcement.
• Type 35 wpm.
• Must pass a thorough background investigation.
• Terminal Operator Certification for ACJIS required upon hire.
• Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and interview callers to gather details.
• Dispatch calls and coordinate responders and units.
• Enter data into CAD and state/national databases; maintain accuracy.
• Maintain records, compile data for reports, and ensure data integrity.
• Provide information and assistance to the public within authority.
