Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid typing certificate with a minimum of 35 net words per minute.
• Preferred college coursework in administrative justice or related fields; dispatcher training coursework may be required for lateral moves.

Responsibilities

• Answer and process 9-1-1 calls for sheriff, fire, medical services.
• Dispatch public safety personnel per procedures and coordinate with field units.
• Maintain communications and provide information and support during emergencies.
• Work rotating shifts; overtime may be required; assist records unit as needed.
