Job summary

Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, is seeking an entry level EMC Test Engineer to support hands‑on EMC testing and validation for advanced vehicle platforms. The ideal candidate is a recent Electrical Engineering graduate who enjoys hands‑on work and problem‑solving in a lab environment.

You will prepare development vehicles, configure test systems, and coordinate lab activities across validation milestones, while gaining experience in emissions and immunity testing, scripting automation, and data

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (recent grads encouraged).
  • Experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, function generators, or similar instrumentation.
  • Experience with Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work hands‑on with test equipment and engineering hardware.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare development vehicles and components for EMC testing, including setup of test equipment, harnesses, and instrumentation.
  • Configure test systems and support software/firmware readiness for validation activities.
  • Coordinate schedules, logistics, and test execution activities to support program milestones.
  • Execute emissions and immunity testing in accordance with internal and industry standards.
  • Develop and use automation scripts (Python, Bash, or similar) to support testing and data collection.
  • Maintain detailed records of test configurations, builds, and results.
  • Support testing activities at internal and external facilities.
  • Coordinate equipment setup, test article preparation, and overall lab readiness.
  • Work closely with engineering and lab teams during validation efforts.
  • Troubleshoot test failures and assist with root‑cause investigations.
  • Capture and analyze test data to identify issues and performance trends.
  • Support validation of corrective actions and hardware updates.
  • Support maintenance and setup of test infrastructure and laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with electrical, RF, or low‑voltage validation efforts as needed.
  • Support certification and compliance‑related activities.

Scope
Vehicle Preparation & Validation
  • Prepare development vehicles and components for EMC testing, including setup of test equipment, harnesses, and instrumentation.
  • Configure test systems and support software/firmware readiness for validation activities.
  • Coordinate schedules, logistics, and test execution activities to support program milestones.
Test Execution & Automation
  • Execute emissions and immunity testing in accordance with internal and industry standards.
  • Develop and use automation scripts (Python, Bash, or similar) to support testing and data collection.

Lab Operations & Coordination
  • Support testing activities at internal and external facilities.

Debugging & Reporting
  • Troubleshoot test failures and assist with root‑cause investigations.
  • Capture and analyze test data to identify issues and performance trends.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Support maintenance and setup of test infrastructure and laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with electrical, RF, or low‑voltage validation efforts as needed.
  • Support certification and compliance‑related activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (recent graduates encouraged to apply).

Preferred

  • Soldering skills.
  • Exposure to RF testing or RF fundamentals.
Work Environment
  • Hands‑on role requiring regular work in laboratory and EMC test chamber environments.
  • Occasional travel to external testing facilities may be required.
