Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the Customer Terminals Software stack for Amazon Leo. You will define architecture across BSP, kernel, networking, device management, and applications, partnering with hardware, RF, and product teams to deliver scalable, secure embedded software for high-volume consumer devices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Technical Vision & Architecture: Own the long-term software architecture for customer terminals, spanning BSP, kernel, networking stack, device management, and application layers.
• Cross-Functional System Design: Partner with hardware, RF, silicon, and product teams to drive hardware/software co-design decisions across SoC selection and satellite link optimization.
• Technical Leadership & Force Multiplication: Lead as the technical authority across multiple teams and decompose complex problems into simple solutions.
• Engineering Excellence: Define best practices for the software development lifecycle and drive quality metrics, code reviews, and operational excellence.
• Embedded Systems Delivery: Lead architecture and delivery of mission-critical embedded software for high-volume devices with OTA updates and fleet observability.
