Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Washington, DC is seeking experienced software engineers to contribute to the development of embedded software for a satellite constellation. You will participate in all phases from requirements to operations, tackling power management, hardware interfaces, and autonomous control with a real-time OS.

The role requires mentoring or leading an engineering team and delivering high-quality code across C/C++/Rust, with close collaboration with hardware

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming with at least one language.
5+ years of leading design or architecture of systems.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded software in C, C++, Rust, or other languages in a real-time operating system environment.
Architect, design, and implement software for satellite constellation.
Write software to interact with devices/electronics using I2C, SPI, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet, etc. communications.
Write device drivers and system applications for flight code and flight management.
Work closely with hardware teams to support board bring-up and integration testing.
