Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions seeks an Embedded Systems Engineer III in Richfield, WI, to lead embedded software design and system-level work for next-generation products. This senior role combines hands-on development with architecture ownership and cross-functional collaboration.

You will drive long-term technical strategy, mentor engineers, and participate in customer-facing discussions while ensuring robust hardware/software integration and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of embedded systems development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in C/C++ and RTOS environments.
• Experience with board bring-up, debugging, and system testing.
• Ability to read schematics/PCB layouts and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of embedded software and system-level functionality.
• Drive architecture decisions and long-term technical strategy across product platforms.
• Debug hardware, firmware, and integration issues.
• Support hardware bring-up, validation, testing, and optimization.
• Collaborate with mechanical, quality, manufacturing, and product teams.
• Establish coding standards and development processes.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through technical leadership.
• Participate in customer discussions, troubleshooting, and requirements gathering.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and align improvements with business goals.
• Contribute to project planning, risk assessments, and product delivery.
