Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 8+ years of embedded software development experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Hands-on proficiency in embedded software development practices and tools.
• Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for leadership discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of embedded software engineers developing mission-critical application software for Blue Origin's National Security programs
• Actively contribute to design and implementation with ~50% hands-on development
• Establish technical direction and software development processes for embedded systems
• Write, review, and debug code with team members to maintain quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware-software integration
• Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and risk mitigation
• Implement and maintain software lifecycle processes compliant with security requirements
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship (50% of time on team development)
• Ensure software quality, reliability, and maintainability
