Job summary

Aptiv's Connected Services Edge Application team seeks an Embedded Software Lead to guide the design, development, and lifecycle of embedded edge software for an automotive data logging and IoT platform.

You will combine hands-on engineering with people leadership to drive secure, scalable in-vehicle software across fast-paced automotive programs, delivering robust edge-to-cloud solutions and coordinating with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional C++ software development experience.
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience in embedded software teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, development, and enhancement of edge application software for a connected automotive data logging and IoT platform.
• Own software delivery across the full lifecycle, including planning, implementation, integration, validation, release, and sustainment.
• Drive robust edge-to-cloud communication, OTA update workflows, embedded security, and data acquisition.
• Investigate, root-cause, and resolve complex production issues across distributed and embedded systems.
• Ensure engineering quality through coding standards, design reviews, test automation, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with systems analysts, platform teams, cloud teams, and other stakeholders to improve reliability, scalability, and operational performance.
• Lead, coach, and supervise a team of embedded software engineers, setting goals and ownership.
• Coordinate work across global teams and time zones, proactively managing communication, dependencies, and risks.
