Job summary

SIONYX is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer V to join our engineering team in Beverly, MA or Santa Barbara, CA, with remote consideration when architecture bar is met. This role focuses on designing, developing, integrating, testing, and maintaining embedded software for imaging products.

The role combines hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities, mentoring engineers, and guiding architecture for the embedded Linux/ARM video pipeline.

Qualifications

• 10+ years shipping embedded software/firmware with architecture ownership.
• Expert C/C++ on constrained systems.
• Embedded Linux on ARM, bring-up and debugging.
• Shipped at least one camera/imaging or real-time video pipeline product.
• Experience with hardware interfaces (MIPI CSI-2, I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet).
• Board bring-up with JTAG, oscilloscope, logic analyzer.
• Ability to articulate architecture to engineers and VP.
• Experience mentoring or managing other engineers.
• US Citizenship or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of complex embedded software solutions and serve as a technical resource for the team.
• Own architecture for the embedded Linux / ARM video pipeline from sensor to color image.
• Lead sensor bring-up, FPGA/MIPI CSI-2 integration, interfaces between sensor, SoC and camera.
• Design, write, and debug C/C++ for microcontrollers, ARM SoCs, and embedded Linux.
• Mentor and develop other engineers through technical guidance and code reviews.
• Take products from prototype through production and field deployment.
• Lead technical projects and coordinate with cross-functional partners.
