Vivint Smart Home is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design and deliver application‑level software for embedded Linux devices in a smart home ecosystem. You will integrate devices over wireless protocols and build compelling user experiences.

You will work with hardware, software, and QA teams to solve complex problems, write high‑quality code, and adopt new skills in a fast‑paced environment. Hybrid schedule based in Seattle, WA.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience.
Experience developing front-end software on embedded Linux platforms.
Proficiency with modern C++ and QT/QML frameworks.
Experience with Python or Rust and web/mobile UI development.
Understanding of HTTP, MQTT, JSON, protobufs, and OO design patterns.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, deliver, and maintain application‑level software on embedded Linux devices.
Integrate smart home devices over wireless protocols into the Vivint ecosystem.
Collaborate with hardware, software, and QA teams to build robust user experiences.
