Job summary

Basalte creates design for the intelligent home. We seek an embedded software engineer to join our strong development team in Belgium.

You will develop across Linux, Windows and macOS, contribute to new products, and maintain existing software with a focus on reliability and performance. You will influence tool choices, stay current with smart home audio/video trends, and work independently to deliver customer‑oriented solutions.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in computer science/engineering required.
Proficient in writing C/C++ applications.
Knowledge of audio/video frameworks.
Experience with multiple operating systems.
Affinity with embedded software is a plus.
Innovative with customer-oriented solutions.
Go-getter, able to work independently and meet deadlines.
Fluent in English or Dutch.

Responsibilities

Develop applications on Linux, Windows and macOS.
Contribute to development of new products from concept to release.
Maintain and improve existing products; assist support to analyse and resolve issues.
Advise on technological choices regarding software tools and methodologies.
Monitor developments in smart home, audio and video domains.
