Job summary

RTX is seeking a highly skilled embedded software engineer to join the Software Security Sensors and Effectsors team. You will contribute to real-time embedded development, integration, and testing using C/C++ on Linux and RTOS platforms to deliver hardened software for warfighter applications.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 10 years of experience, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and 10 years’ experience.
• Experience in an Agile and DevSecOps environment developing and maintaining software on embedded processors/microcontrollers.
• Demonstrated ability to work across Systems Engineering and Hardware Engineering to debug issues using software tools.
• Experience working in a Linux environment with the ability to modify and maintain Linux Kernel root file systems.
• Experience developing multithreaded applications.
• Strong knowledge of building a code base with CMake and Google Test.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy real-time embedded software with focus on overall system integrity.
• Design, develop, integrate, test embedded solutions with application software.
• Collaborate with Systems engineering to generate design concepts and architectural documentation.
• Apply embedded principles to hardened software on Linux/RTOS platforms and ensure cross-team consistency.
