Job summary
RTX is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the Sensors: Space and Airborne Radar Center. The role focuses on embedded real-time software, system-of-systems architecture, and cross-disciplinary collaboration across software, hardware, and firmware teams.
Qualified candidates will have 8+ years in engineering, solid C++ experience, MOSA familiarity, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
Qualifications
- Degree in STEM and 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience with system-of-systems software architecture and interfaces.
- Experience with Cameo or Enterprise Architect and MOSA standards.
- Real-time software development in C++ and Linux/VxWorks.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as senior technical contributor and mentor engineers.
- Provide systems thinking and architecture support for PDR.
- Collaborate with architects to drive technical clarity across teams.
- Drive design reviews and major milestones (PDR/CDR).
- Architect, implement, test embedded real-time software.
- Travel up to 5%.
- Onsite role in McKinney, TX with residency/relocation.
