LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. in Aurora, OH seeks a Sr. Software Engineer to own the full software lifecycle from concept to deprecation. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with customers and end users to capture requirements, design applications, and implement features.

Responsibilities include testing strategy development, code reviews, and hands-on embedded RTOS/Linux development for diverse SoC/DSP/FPGA platforms, with occasional on-site client work.

Qualifications

• 8+ years full software lifecycle experience required.
• C/C++ programming expertise required.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, drivers, memory, processes.
• Proficient with MySQL databases.
• Web tech skills: PHP, JavaScript.
• Scripting with Python/Bash required.
• Real-world design and construction experience.
• Embedded RTOS development with embedded Linux experience required.
• Hardware/software co-design experience desirable.
• Yocto/Buildroot or similar build systems desirable.
• Experience with MODBUS/TCP, BACnet, SNMP is a plus.
• Project and defect management tooling familiarity desirable.
• Windows and Linux app development experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Define and capture requirements with customers and end users.
• Design applications using state-of-the-art software techniques.
• Own and maintain existing software subsystems.
• Add features and fix bugs in new and existing systems.
• Develop deep understanding of SoC, DSP, FPGA components.
• Create testing strategies for complex configurable apps.
• Manage product life-cycle trajectory.
• Participate in code reviews via online tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide growth.
• Occasionally work on customer sites for integration/support.
