Job summary

LayerZero Power Systems LLC. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing integration for next-gen power systems, including STS and PDU.

You will drive advanced simulations, validate models, and optimize CAD for in-house manufacturing, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring safety, reliability, and certifications. The role is on-site in Aurora, OH, requiring 5+ years of electromechanical design experience, Solid Edge proficiency, and a strong

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical design and simulation experience.
• Proficiency in FEA/CFD and 3D CAD (Solid Edge preferred).
• Experience with manufacturability and reliability in sheet metal assemblies.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70, UL, IEC, CSA, NOM or ANSI standards for power equipment.
• Active PE license is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and analysis for power systems products (STS & PDU).
• Drive mechanical/thermal design with advanced FEA/CFD.
• Validate models via calculation, prototyping, testing.
• Optimize 3D CAD for our vertically integrated manufacturing.
• Support sustaining engineering to improve existing designs.
• Embed safety and clearance constraints in design inputs.
• Coordinate 3rd-party testing for certifications.
• Define testing parameters for prototypes and production units.
• Lead design reviews and coach junior engineers in advanced techniques.
• Lead RCA and provide resolutions for field issues.
