Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and integrate embedded software for diesel engine control systems at Mossville, IL.

You will work on software requirements, MATLAB/Simulink collaborations, and test scripts across bench, HIL, and MIL environments. The role requires strong embedded and real-time software skills, with opportunities to contribute to production-ready software and defect resolution.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, CS or Materials Science.
• Experience with embedded systems and real-time software for diesel engine controls.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL)/software-in-the-loop (SIL)/model-in-the-loop (MIL).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software for diesel engine control systems.
• Integrate software components and auto-generated code into flash files and deploy to ECUs.
• Perform verification and validation across unit, integration, system, and regression testing.
• Identify and resolve software defects and system integration issues; perform root cause analysis.
