Job summary

RTX is seeking an Senior Embedded Software Engineer for an onsite Tucson, AZ role. You will architect, design, implement, test, and deploy software for FPGA/ hardware-integrated systems in an IPT. You will work with cross-discipline teams to ensure time-critical, reliable operation and system-level quality.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in embedded software, experience with RTOS, and proficiency in C++ and hardware–firmware integration. The role requires eligibility for U.S.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience including at least two of the following: Embedded C++ Software, Embedded Software Security, Software Architecture Design and Implementation.
• Experience using embedded Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) (e.g., Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks, Linux, etc.).
• Experience developing complex systems involving the integration of hardware, firmware, and software.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret Level U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start.

Responsibilities

• Architecting, designing, implementing, testing, and debugging integrated embedded real-time software within heterogeneous systems of firmware and hardware.
• Work with cross-discipline teams to define, refine, and improve product concept, implementation, testability, and quality.
• Teaching, coaching, and mentoring less experienced staff.
