Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for an onsite role in Tucson, AZ. The candidate will architect, implement and test embedded real-time software for FPGA firmware and hardware solutions in a cross-disciplinary IPT environment. Strong emphasis on time-critical functionality and safety is required.

Ideal candidates will have a STEM degree, 5+ years of relevant experience, and hands-on experience with embedded C++, RTOS, and hardware-software integration. U.S.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience including at least two of the following: Embedded C++ Software, Embedded Software Security, Software Architecture Design and Implementation.
• Experience using embedded Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) (e.g., Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks, Linux, etc.).
• Experience developing complex systems involving the integration of hardware, firmware, and software.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret Level U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement, test, and debug embedded real-time software for firmware and hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to improve product concept, implementation, testability and quality.
• Mentor less experienced staff and contribute to design reviews.
• Assist with proposals and critical design reviews.
• Obtain program access as required.
