Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the Software Engineering team on a hybrid schedule with at least three days on site weekly (Mon, Wed, Thu). You will work on device drivers, networking, encryption, and security features for radios and advanced research projects.

Responsibilities include MAC and routing protocol implementations, security and encryption work, audio streaming, BSP development for ARM and RISC-V, and Linux scripting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or relevant field.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Expertise in C programming and Linux kernel driver development.
• U.S. citizen due to government contracts; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Implement software for MAC and mobile ad-hoc networking routing protocols.
• Develop network management software and web interface.
• Implement security protocols and encryption algorithms.
• Develop audio streaming and push-to-talk applications.
• Analyze and improve product security to meet FIPS 140-3 and NIAP Common Criteria.
• Create testing software for performance and reliability.
• Develop device drivers and BSP for ARM and RISC-V systems.
• Linux system customization and scripting.
