Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the MANTA/APNT team in Cedar Rapids to develop real-time embedded software for GPS receivers and PNT products used in military applications.

You will analyze requirements, design, code, test, and integrate software on target hardware, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and applying Agile practices. A DoD clearance and STEM degree are required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
• Experience with C/C++ or other high-order programming languages in an embedded application environment.
• Experience with hardware-centric product development and integration.
• Proficiency in software development processes for real-time embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement real-time embedded software for GPS receivers and PNT products.
• Perform requirements analysis, software design, coding, integration, verification, and documentation.
• Integrate software onto target hardware and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Support field demonstrations, system integration efforts, and product deployment activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Apply Agile methodologies to software development processes for real-time embedded hardware/software applications.
• Mentor and guide junior team members to foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
