Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking an experienced software engineer to develop flight software and tools for New Glenn avionics systems. You will contribute to safety-critical real-time embedded software used on vehicle and ground systems, handling requirements, design, implementation, integration and testing to enable missions to orbit and beyond.

The role requires advanced knowledge of C/C++, Python, and embedded software, plus experience with real-time systems and hardware

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related subject area.
• 8+ years of experience writing software in C, C++, and Python.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software, kernel development, BSPs or other systems software components.
• Solid understanding of operating systems and network protocols.
• Experience working with real-time systems and developing software that interfaced directly with hardware and programmable logic.

Responsibilities

• Develop flight software and tools for various spaceflight systems.
• Share in the team’s impact on safety-critical real-time embedded software development.
• Work on vehicle avionics and ground systems; responsible for requirements, design, implementation, integration and testing of software components and tools.
