Job summary

Astemo Ltd. is seeking a Senior Engineer to develop embedded software for AD/ADAS platforms. The role focuses on platform capabilities beyond BSPs, including system-level power architecture, firmware design, and abstractions enabling robust applications across hardware generations.

You will work across multiple areas, contributing to both current development needs and emerging software infrastructure initiatives, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with hardware and safety teams.

Qualifications

• Strong programming in C/C++ and Python for low-level embedded software.
• Experience with embedded Linux and/or RTOS environments.
• Familiarity with AD/ADAS systems and automotive compute platforms.
• Understanding of SoC architectures and hardware/software interaction.
• Experience integrating application software with platform services on embedded targets.

Responsibilities

• Lead board bring-up activities for new AD/ADAS high-performance compute hardware.
• Integrate device drivers for sensors, peripherals, and high-speed interconnects.
• Develop platform software beyond vendor baselines for performance and reliability.
• Define system-level strategies for managing platform resources across conditions.
• Develop firmware and low-level software to improve platform behavior and observability.
• Design and evolve platform abstractions for middleware and apps across generations.
• Collaborate with hardware, SoC vendors, safety, and software teams to close platform issues and mentor juniors.
