Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded C/C++ software for high-reliability defense systems. You will work closely with hardware in a lab to build realistic simulations of evolving electromagnetic threats.

The role emphasizes embedded software for microcontrollers and FPGAs, GUI development, and full life cycle software engineering. A current Top Secret clearance is required to support flight line and lab environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
4–5+ years of professional embedded C/C++ experience.
Experience with Linux and embedded Linux environments.
Hands-on firmware development and debugging.
Active TS clearance required for defense/electronic warfare projects.

Responsibilities

Design, code, and maintain software applications in C/C++ for embedded systems.
Develop embedded software for microcontrollers and FPGAs with reliable performance.
Create GUIs to support test and simulation systems in lab environments.
Document interfaces, tests, and procedures for software designs.
Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with electronic systems.
Debug software and hardware interactions using lab equipment like spectrum analyzers.
