Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Long Beach, CA, to design, develop and test embedded software for safety-critical vehicle systems. The role requires deep expertise in MISRA C, ISO 26262, and ARM Cortex-based drivers, with a focus on high-voltage EV components, battery management, and power electronics.

The position is hybrid, based near Long Beach, and requires collaboration with hardware, firmware, and systems teams to ensure fault-tolerant software across vehicle

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
6 years of progressive related experience.
Experience implementing embedded C in RTOS/bare-metal.
Experience with CAN/CAN-FD, SPI, I2C, UART, LIN, UDS.

Responsibilities

Coordinate software development for embedded components and hardware interfaces.
Develop firmware and test against MISRA C and ISO 26262 requirements.
Design and test software for high-voltage EV systems and power electronics.
Collaborate with hardware/systems teams for integration and safety analyses.
