Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Long Beach is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to develop architectural and hardware solutions for electric vehicle subsystems, spanning dynamics, propulsion, body, and safety. You will support end-to-end integration from design to launch of next-generation vehicle platforms.

This role blends desk work with hands-on lab and vehicle time, with travel as needed. You will work within EVDD to ensure robust hardware performance and traceability from requirements to results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 2+ years experience with electrical systems or electronics designs.
• Proficiency reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Bring up new components on benches, labcars, and vehicles, and characterize them.
• Perform component- and system-level tests on labcars and vehicles.
• Debug hardware failures from first principles using scopes and probes.
• Develop prototype hardware assemblies to unblock software and feature development.
• Integrate production hardware into prototype systems to enable rapid iteration.
• Review supplier hardware deliverables and document discrepancies.
