Job summary

Brooksource in Novi, MI is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and deliver embedded software for Battery Management System (BMS) platforms. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, safety, and regulatory compliance across products.

You will debug with oscilloscopes, CAN tools, and lab equipment, participate in technical reviews and agile processes, and work on-site under a contract-to-hire arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong experience developing embedded software and firmware using C in production environments.
• Experience with CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, or Modbus communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software and firmware for Battery Management System (BMS) applications.
• Configure and support base software modules managing battery monitoring, contactors, and hardware interfaces.
• Work closely with validation, controls, systems, and application engineering teams throughout development.
• Utilize oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and CAN tools to debug software and hardware interactions.
• Perform software verification, validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis activities.
• Support compliance efforts related to functional safety and embedded software quality standards.
• Participate in technical reviews, agile development processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
